Announcing an Evening of Hot Gypsy Jazz and Blues with The Blue Rhythm Boys to Chase Away Your Winter Chills!
The Washington DC Lindy Exchange is pleased to present Tom Mitchell and Jim Stephanson on their vintage archtop guitars, John Previti on bass, Vince McCool on trumpet and the anchor, Big Joe Maher on drums at the historic Spanish Ballroom in Glen Echo Park on Saturday, February 4th.
A beginner swing lesson at 8:00 pm is included in the $15 admission, followed by dancing from 9:00 pm to midnight.
Come hear their blend of “hot club” swing and delta blues. Find out why they’ve been likened to Mississippi John Hurt jamming with Django Reinhardt and Louis Armstrong, with the Kansas City Five as the backline!
Visit us at www.dclx.net and friend us on Facebook.
Presented in cooperation with the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts & Culture, Inc., the National Park Service and Montgomery County, MD.

What happens when you buy a registration for yourself and your friends!
Since Thanksgiving you’ve been working hard, thinking about other people, buying Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanza, and I’m-an-atheist,-but-my-parents-still-get-me-presents-Day gifts. Now it’s time to buy a gift for you. Maybe some other people too.
DCLX registration is now open! Treat yourself and your lindy loved ones to a discounted registration; the first fifty to register will pay only $70 (plus PayPal fees). After that the price, still a great stocking stuffer, goes up to $80 (plus PayPal fees).
At DCLX 2011, we totally hipped your jive with our amazing battle of the big bands. We’re going to do it again for DCLX 2012! Now you’re thinking ‘DCLX, I know you’re still roaring in your 11th year and putting on ANOTHER Saturday night battle of the bands, this time with hometown jewel the Tom Cunningham Orchestra and Crytzer’s Blue Rhythm Band, but I already bought my family matching Hello Kitty themed lederhosen. Why should I stuff their cable knit stockings with a DCLX registration?’
DCLX has limited tickets available at the door to each dance, especially the late night dances. Purchasing a registration guarantees entrance to each dance, access to housing, a goodie bag, and the knowledge that you are helping support the exchange and the lindy community. Also, buying a registration is cheaper than at the door prices.
When you buy your registration, also put in an order for a DCLX tee shirt. They’ll be $15 each and we’ll be unveiling the design soon after registration opens.
Whether you’re finishing your holiday shopping or signing up for yourself, get your DCLX registration at http://dclx.net/register. Now.
Oh, and rumor has it that Glenn Crytzer’s musical line-up for the next DCLX will make your feet move a full two weeks before he gets on stage. It’ll be THAT GOOD!
Update, 11 Dec 2011. Early Bird registration sold out! Go ahead and buy the regular registration package. It’s still cheaper than buying all the dances at the at-door prices. Plus you are guaranteed entrance to all the dances.
