Mother Nature decided to make it a split decision. We are moving the afternoon dance to the Ballroom Annex at Glen Echo. The room is located directly behind the Spanish Ballroom, which is directly next to the picnic area in the center of the park. Facing the ballroom, turn left and walk to the side of the building where you’ll see a couple of stairs, and there is the entrance to the “Back Room.”
Oh, and don’t worry. This evening’s cookout at Colvin Run will go on, rain or shine!

Are you planning to dance your shoes off at DCLX 2012? Well, we’ve got you covered! We will be holding a contest to give away a pair of the world-famous Aris Allen dance shoes, generously donated by our friends at Dancestore.com. During DCLX weekend, write a haiku that will convince us that you deserve the shoes, and drop it in the designated haiku box at the ticket table at any main dance (sorry – afternoon dances are not included). Include your name, e-mail address, and cell phone # on your entry so we can contact you if you win. The only requirements are that you must observe strict haiku format and must include a reference to Aris Allens. Please write legibly and large – you can’t win if your poem can’t be read by a 55-year-old with bad eyesight. Finalist poems will be read during a band break at the Sunday night dance, and the winner will be chosen by the DCLX president based on audience response. All decisions are final, one entry per person, no pre-registration required.
