Jam Cellar AKA Josephine Butler Parks Center
2437 15th Street, NW Washington, DC 20009

Parking Notes: This venue is in the city, so parking is a little more spare. It's in a residential neighborhood and isn't downtown, so it's not terrible. However, here are some tips: First, get there early and you'll have no problems. Otherwise, on the other side of the park (1 block away) and halfway down the hill (2 or 3 blocks) there is a ton of free and open parking. It may not look like parking since the signs were red, but they only restricted parking or standing during certain hours - none of which were during the dance. We suggest you walk around the park on the North side.

Driving Directions From Downtown:
1. Take 15th Street north
2. Meridian Hill Park will be to your left
3. The Josephine Butler Parks Center is just at the crest of the hill, to the right. It is an old embassy building painted a brilliant gold.
4. Parking is available on the street.

Driving Directions from Virginia:
1. Take 66 East
2. As you cross Memorial Bridge stay to the left and take the E St. ramp to the E St Expressway. 3. Turn left at 17th St and go for half a mile.
4. Bear right at Connecticuty Ave
5. Turn right on Rhode Island Ave. Go through Scott Circle.
6. Turn left on 15th St and after 1 mile you'll be there (be careful: a couple blocks after U St it forks - stay left to remain on 15th - otherwise you'll end up on New Hampshire.
7. Parking is available on the street.

Driving Direction From Points North:
1. Take 16th Street south
2. Meridian Hill Park will be to your left
3. Make a left on W Street
4. Make your first left on 15th Street
5. The Josephine Butler Parks Center is just at the crest of the hill, to the right. It is an old embassy building painted a brilliant gold.
4. Parking is available on the street.

By Metro: The Parks Center is about 5 blocks south of the Columbia Heights Metro Stop on the Green Line. The Woodley Park Stop on the Red Line is about a 10 minute walk away. U Street is about a 10 minute walk as well. We like the U Street walk the best. To see what stops are close, check out our metro map. Go to the WMATA Site for walking directions from the train stops. Make sure you leave on time from the dance. The trains stop running at midnight.
