Celebrate freedom by swinging out on monuments to it. Most of us probably saw this gorgeous plaza in those skateboarding videos we had when we were kids and Jason Lee was a skater and not yet an actor. Well, you can bring your board if you'd like, but we'd suggest some dancing shoes that do well on marble instead. Well, heck, bring both. Be rad.

Saturday Evening
Blue Crescent Septet w/ The New Orleans Jazz Vipers
Glen Echo Park Spanish Ballroom
7300 MacArthur Blvd.
Glen Echo, Maryland
Music Happens! DCLX's Saturday night dance at Glen Echo just got better!
Whether you call it a battle or a collaboration, going head to head or side by side, we are extremely pleased to announce that The Blue Crescent Septet and the New Orleans Jazz Vipers will be appearing together for one unforgettable performance.
When we put Craig Gildner's Blue Crescent Septet in the same event as The New Orleans Jazz Vipers, we should have known that there would be no keeping them apart. Craig, already a local favorite with his band Blue Sky 5, formed Blue Crescent in the spirit of the New Orleans jazz tradition stemming from a chance encounter when Craig sat in with the New Orleans Jazz Vipers during Lindy Gras at a joint called the Spotted Cat in 2003. That tradition will be continued for DCLX 2008 at the Spanish Ballroom in Glen Echo for our Saturday night dance.
This program presented in cooperation with the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture Inc., the National Park Service, and Montgomery County.
